Whygo2 Pattaya
Letsgo2 employees have travelled extensively to the destinations we feature. Here are the five main reasons they would consider a holiday to Pattaya.
Activities & Entertainment
Buzzing with life day and night, Thailand's liveliest resort is a veritable playground. Every type of water-based activity is available, including diving, sailing and deep-sea fishing, and the area is a paradise for golfers with 18 courses within one hour's drive. Young families too enjoy the entertainment, with theme parks and crocodile and tiger farms to keep the little ones amused. There's even the chance to swim with dolphins at the Sanctuary of Truth. For a break from Pattaya's hectic pace, visit Wat Khao Prayai, a quiet, hilltop temple complex with great views.
Nightlife
There's a definite party atmosphere once the sun sets in Pattaya. The resort offer gourmet restaurants and cocktail lounges as well as cheap food outlets and night markets, perfect for family entertainment. Beyond the major hotels the style is more liberated with discos, karaoke bars, nightclubs and go-go bars all loudly competing for your custom. The world-famous transvestite cabarets are spectacular fun and there's no shortage of neon, music and feathers to assault your senses. Bold, brash and beautiful, Pattaya is a pleasure seekers paradise.
Beaches & Islands
Despite the popularity of Pattaya the size and number of local beaches means it never gets too crowded. Jomtien Beach has 6km of golden sand fringed with palm trees and with a host of first rate watersports facilities. Watch the world go by from your sun lounger as you sip on tropical cocktails and plan your next activity. Just offshore the islands of Ko Lan and Ko Sak offer a little more seclusion and with good diving and snorkeling available are well worth a visit.
Shopping
With a fascinating and diverse shopping scene, Pattaya is a fun place to shop as well as offering great bargains. The beach is lined with shopping centres and handicrafts, gems and hand-tailored clothing outlets abound. Don't be afraid to barter - it's all part of the fun.
Climate
An average temperature of 28 C makes Pattaya is the perfect year-round destination. Overall the best time to visit is November to March when the days are almost exclusively dry and the humidity lower.
